Please give us a detailed personal history of your character:

In many ways, Nia Teppelin just wasn’t destined to live a normal life.

Even before her birth, her father, the Helix King Lord Genome, had given life to hundreds of children over the span of at least a thousand years. And yet, as the years passed by, he’d soon grow tired of these ‘dolls’ he’d created, seeing fit to dispose of them when they served their purpose. Every single one met the same fate: falling deep in eternal sleep while their bodies were disposed of in small boxes into a large ravine where they slowly starved.

At first, Nia had been nothing more than just a puppet for the wicked ruler. She would receive the best of everything, treated to the finest dresses and given the most beautiful dolls, but on the inside she was nothing more than a toy to be played with until Lord Genome grew bored of her. But as she matured, Nia began to shy away from what her father tried so hard to accomplish. Slowly, but surely, she grew more aware of her surroundings: how warm the sun was to her face, how soft her hair felt through her fingertips, and how rough and calloused her father’s skin was when she reached out to touch it.

The steel bubble surrounding her was steadily shrinking, but it was only until Nia turned fourteen did she make a fatal mistake.

She asked him why she was born.

In his court, it was only common knowledge to know that Lord Genome absolutely despised the thought of freewill, a sense of self-consciousness that only made him all the more aware that his control over his daughter had dwindled. Despite his calm demeanor, he was furious at such a disgusting act, and Nia could see the anger that raged on in his eyes when she realized her mistake.

But the damage had already been done, and unbeknownst to her, her father was already planning to dispose of her filth. It was all done in secret, of course, with Nia’s body carted off the ruling capital of Teppelin and towards the surface of Earth. The weather was grim and wet, a fitting atmosphere for other hardships that were being faced not so far away.

In several ways she owed her life to Simon and the challenges he had to endure after Kamina’s death. If it weren’t for the pain in his heart he never would’ve found her box in that quiet ravine, and so through her sub consciousness she sought fit to make up for that. It was the very first time besides her father since she’d seen another ‘human’, to know the softness of their skin and their delicate expressions when she touched his face. Nia liked Simon from the start, even if he was flawed, because in her heart she knew that he was a good person.

She was so eager to learn from him as she practically barraged him with questions underneath the heavy rain, and then reassured him that it was okay to be scared and run when they were ambushed by a giant mecha the beastmen controlled called ‘ganmen’. Luckily for them, they were rescued soon after and taken back to the Dai-Gurren, their battleship headquarters, where Nia met with a rainbow of faces. Big and small and fat and square, there were so many human faces that she never dreamed of!

But their celebration fell short when they were ambushed by one of Lord Genome’s Four Generals, Adiane, but Nia was the one that brought them precious time, considering her position as a princess. Yet now that her true identity was revealed, the Dai-Gurren Brigade was more than a little cautious of her presence, but she meant them no harm. Nia even tried to help Simon with his pain, to listen why he was so miserable. And yet it didn’t stand right with her to hear that he was wallowing over someone who was already dead. Her words came as harsh, and she earned much hostility from the redheaded sniper Yoko, but she still stood with what she believed.

Meanwhile, Adiane soon learned that Lord Genome had merely tossed Nia away like a broken plaything, and so returned to the humans to toss them the wonderful news. She savored every expression on Nia’s face when she tricked her into believing that she was going to listen at first, but Nia, despite her upbringings, was a strong person that refused to give up. She came to realize how much Kamina’s death meant to everyone, and that fighting made absolutely no sense. Her words were so uplifting that Simon, who was powerless at the time, ran to her aid followed by the rest of the Dai-Gurren when Adiane was about to throw the finishing blow. Nia had earned her spot as a precious member of their Brigade, but there were still things that needed to be done.

She tried her best to pull Simon from his misery, but he was so deep in his hole that it was nearly impossible. And so she thought it was best to just offer him her company as something to lie back on, or at least, until their headquarters were suddenly ambushed again. This time it was Guame’s turn from the Four Generals, and he specifically asked for Nia’s audience after the whole ship was taken over by the beastmen. It was there that Nia learned the reason why she was abandoned, and that she wasn’t the first one to have met that fate. Her own body quaked with these emotions, but she knew she had to remain strong for everyone’s sake.

Luckily Simon finally recovered and came to her rescue just in the nick of time, and Nia quickly found herself in tears before she was taken away, helping her friend force Guame back to retreat. Everything was going swimmingly then, and when they reached the ocean in their ongoing search for the capital of Teppelin the crew decided to spend the day to just lounge about until the modifications to their ship was complete. It was just a wonderful time to spend with everyone except for the fact that her relationship with Yoko had waned, but all of that was put aside when Adiane returned. When she was used as a hostage against the Gurren Brigade, Yoko was there to save her, using her hair as a distraction so she could trick Adiane and aim the gunshot right at her ganmen’s shoulder. It wasn’t long before the General was disposed of, signaling that they were one step closer to reaching their goal.

Nia bonded deeply with Yoko then, letting the woman cut her hair until it was dangling right underneath her chin. Afterwards, a good month passed until they were met with more resistance. This time it was by Cytomander, who didn’t prove to be much of a difficulty for their ever growing army, but Guame had come back to throw in one last attack, creating a cyclone around the capital of Teppelin to protect it from the invaders. This cut off the radio with much of the Dai-Gurren Brigade’s army, and one by one they were leading themselves towards the cyclone, only to be destroyed seconds later. Seeing this, Nia used a hologram to warn them about what was happening, and that Simon was going to stop it. Soon enough, Simon used a surprise attack to defeat Guame and disrupt the cyclone until Teppelin was now revealed.

The oncoming battle was a tough one, but Nia knew what had to be done. She asked Simon if she could ride with him as he ascended towards the top of the capital where Lord Genome resided, witnessing as her father and dear friend fought until Simon finally won. It was a bittersweet defeat, and Nia found herself reaching out as her father fell to his demise, but it was for the best of everyone. She returned back with Simon, knowing that they were free from Lord Genome’s terror.

Please give us a detailed description of your character's personality:

Innocent, trusting and blatantly naïve: these are a few of the choice words someone would use to describe the oddity before them. Grown up to be primp and proper (almost like a living doll), Nia has the proper etiquette for a princess, acting very polite to others no matter who they are. However, it’s very easy for someone to become her friend, and she’s genuinely kind and loving to each one, determined to do anything to the point of recklessness to make sure that they’re happy and safe.

Since she’d grown in a sheltered life, Nia’s mind is like a dry sponge, using any chance she can to soak up any kind of information, not really caring what it is and what use it has for her. It’s because she knows so little compared to everyone else that she tries her hardest not to be a burden to everyone, which is why she’s very passionate when someone takes the time to teach her what he or she knows. But don’t be surprised if she starts asking why that way is best, and then further asking why is that the reason why that way is best and so on and so forth.

Still, her intelligence only goes so far, and she can’t exactly understand when someone’s being metaphorical, always the type of person to take things from a literal standpoint. So don’t expect her to get the symbolic meanings behind the Radio’s riddles.

Nia is extremely trusting, and truly believes that if she believes in someone they will come to her aid in the same way as she would to them. It goes to the point where she’s frustratingly stubborn about it, but when someone does rescue her, especially Simon, her iron stance crumbles and she ends up breaking down into tears.

Overall, she’s a charming child, and one shouldn’t be surprised to know that she’s a valuable part of what makes the Gurren Brigade a force to be reckoned with.

Please give us a detailed physical description of your character:

At first glance, Nia has always been the type of person who deserved a double take: the first to pay mind to her, the second (done hastily) to confirm if she has some kind of contagious form of astigmatism.

She stands at an average height of 5’1, weighing in at 95 pounds with a small and petite body that’s fitting enough for those measurements. The teen has smooth white skin, almost porcelain-like in several aspects, with longish legs underneath her small form. However, for as far as a teenager goes, that signifies the end of normality and stretches more into what could be considered ‘bizarre’ to the human eye.

For most of her life Nia has had long blonde hair, with even longer streaks of light blue twisting and twirling with those stubborn curls. It usually waved in every direction, falling over her shoulders and into the middle of her back and was only really kept together by a headband. However, because of reasons spoken above, most of that mane had been reduced into a few wild strands falling at chin length. This is going to make finding icons for her absolute hell.

The last, and probably most eccentric, feature on her being are her eyes, which are shaded in an aqua blue with pink irises shaped into what appears to be tiny flowers.

What point in time are you taking your character from when he/she appears at Landel's?:

Since I want to keep her travel-size I’m taking her after episode 15, the night after they defeat Lord Genome since right afterwards is the time skip for over seven years. Tempting it may be to have hot black skin tight jumpsuit wearing Nia, I think loli!Nia would be more interesting to play in Landel’s.

What kinds of magical/special/crazy powers does your character have, if any?:

Nia doesn’t need powers to advertise her manliness. She is manliness.

If present, how do you plan to tweak those powers to make him/her appropriately hindered in the setting of Landel's?:

You can’t tweak natural manliness.

Does your character have any other non-magical skills or abilities that we should know about?:

Raised to be a proper princess, Nia does have a variety of skills that help her in ways more suited for bringing a good impression upon her. However, besides the obvious etiquette a lady must convey such as table manners or a sense of blance, she tends to show a contradiction to her upbringings. She is pretty agile, which make sense considering her physical stature, but she has the strength twice that of a boy her own age. This makes her capable of carrying a pot full of silverware or opening a cold jar of pickles without much effort. However, remember the fact that she’s only a teenage girl, so her strength and agility hardly equate with her durability.

How about improbable appendages?:

Maybe this question is improbable. How about that?
